Gautam Mukunda

Gautam Mukunda

Professor Mukunda has a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a B.A. magna cum laude from Harvard College. Professor Mukunda is the author of “Indispensable: When Leaders Really Matter” (Harvard Business Review, 2012) and “Picking Presidents: How To Make The Most Important Decision in the World” (University of California Press, 2022). Formerly he was an Assistant Professor at Harvard Business School, Distinguished Visiting Professor at Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University, and a consultant with McKinsey & Company. He is the host of the Nasdaq podcast “World Reimagined with Gautam Mukunda” and the author of numerous articles on leadership, innovation, and policy issues. Professor Mukunda is presently a Research Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School.

J. Peter Scoblic

J. Peter Scoblic

Professor Scoblic has a doctorate from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree with honors from Brown University. He is a Senior Fellow with the International Security Program at New America, a Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School, and Co-Founder of Event Horizon Strategies. He served as Executive Editor of The New Republic and Foreign Policy, and he was Deputy Staff Director of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. Professor Scoblic is the author of U.S. vs. Them, published by Viking Press. He teaches Behavioral Decision Making in Harvard’s Professional Development Program.

Noel Maurer

Noel Maurer

Professor Maurer has a B.A. and PhD from Stanford University. He has worked at Harvard Business School in the BGIE unit for over a decade. Before that, he was a professor at ITAM, a university in Mexico City, during which he co-founded an NGO dedicated to helping small rural communities in Chiapas find new business opportunities. Professor Maurer’s research revolves around two different axes: (1) how companies overcome the barriers to commercializing renewable energy; and (2) how private actors defend their property rights under dictatorial governments or political instability. Professor Maurer is presently an Associate Professor of International Affairs and International Business at the George Washington University.

Partha Mohanram

Partha Mohanram

Professor Mohanram has a PhD in Business Economics from Harvard, an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Madras. Professor Mohanram has published extensively on financial statement analysis, valuation of growth firms, and disclosure. He is a Deputy Editor-in-chief of Contemporary Accounting Research and serves on the editorial board of The Accounting Review and Review of Accounting Studies. His research work has won numerous awards including the Haim Falk award from the CAAA. Professor Mohanram has taught for over 20 years including at Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, NYU Stern School of Business, and Columbia Business School.

Rob Austin

Rob Austin

Professor Austin earned his Doctorate in Management and Decision Sciences from Carnegie Mellon University, where his dissertation received the Herbert A. Simon Award. He holds a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University. He has been a Professor of Technology and Operations Management at the Harvard Business School for 12 years and of Innovation and Digital Transformation at Copenhagen Business School for 9 years. He has published widely in Harvard Business Review, Information Systems Research, MIT Sloan Management Review, Organization Science, Organization Studies, and the Wall Street Journal. He also is the author of 9 books and more than 50 published cases. Professor Austin currently teaches Information Systems at Ivey Business School.

We are a team of highly dedicated, action-oriented idealists, fighting to democratize access to power, promise, and privilege. We are headquartered in the heart of innovation and opportunity in San Francisco, CA.

Umaimah Mendhro, Founder of One League, has a Bachelors in Science with High Distinction from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School where she was a Baker Scholar (Top 5% of Class). Umaimah is also the CEO of VIDA & Co, formerly backed by Google Ventures and Y Combinator, currently a multi-million dollar public benefit corporation.

Umaimah has previously worked at Microsoft, McKinsey, and West where she led projects with companies including Twitter, Dropbox, and Square. Umaimah is a Venture Partner with Halogen VC and HOF Capital and the author of select Harvard Business Review case studies and Forbes Op-Ed pieces. Under Umaimah's leadership, VIDA was recognized by Fast Company for 2021 World Changing Ideas Award and Umaimah has been recognized by CIO Magazine as one of the Most High-Impact Leaders Making a Difference in the World.
